Are We Really Living Our Christian Faith?

Preparing the way for Christ – Advent.

You will face that moment. But will it find you prepared already in its advent? That’s the thing to think about. We are in the advent of Christ’s coming. And I don’t mean Christmas, but your end. Our preparation for Christmas is a reminder to prepare for our end, our meeting Christ. Whether He comes with a trumpet blast or He comes with our death, we have to prepare. This is the Church saying, prepare. Repent. Live the gospel which means to be crucified with Christ. See the kingdom in God’s Heavenly glory. This is the advent because you don’t know when the end comes, but we should be prepared. God love you.” Friar Anthony

Notes from Friar Anthony’s talk: Death in Christ, our Preparation for Christmas – Advent Retreat Part 1.

Life is so much about getting rid of our attachments to this world, because we are not of this world. This life is but a fleeting moment. I’ve read that this life is like a bird which flies in one window of a castle and right out another. The time the bird spends in the castle – but a fleeting moment – represents our life here on earth. So we must get rid of our attachments now. And Advent is a time to do it, because Christ is coming.

All words below are notes taken from Friar Anthony’s talk. They are not comprehensive but just my own highlights. Bold is mine.

“We’re attracted to the sentimentality of Christmas.

Sentimentality robs our attention. The lower faculties of our soul take our eyes off of what we’re supposed to be paying attention to. The goal and object of our life – God. And (the) obtaining God according to His desire and will for us.

It’s not about being fed, see that’s putting us in the center again. It’s all about us. Mass is about us going to the table.

The reality of your Christmas is not like it is on the movies or how it is in the song.

“Behold, I come quickly.”

Love not the world, nor the things which are in the world. If any man love the world the charity (love) of the Father is not in him.”

The essence of sin is disordered love.

When men take their eyes off what they ought to be having their eyes on, that is, God, (He should be their only love), willing to die and sacrifice and suffer every trial and torment for the love of Him, who deserves never to be offended by us. When we turn our eyes away from Him, and fix them on to something else that might bring us some kind of happiness, and things do, we see it as a good thing and that’s why we do it. If you saw it as the monstrous blasphemy that it is or how horrendous and disgusting the thing is before God, of course you would never do that thing that you shouldn’t do.

So if a man falls in love with another woman – or thinks he’s in love with another woman because it would essentially be disordered love, and that is sin.

It is difficult to be in the world. House, cars, etc. But when the attachments start coming in because we’re sensual people. When they start coming in and we’re not focused on our goal, little by little, your prayer life starts to go down, worldly secular lifestyles start to come into the house, before you know it you really don’t pray much, then you find yourself compromising. “My daughter wants to get married outside of the Church to a man who is not even Catholic, they’re living together.”

God knows these things are hard. These are real choices that have to be made everyday. But that’s death. That’s the hard part. See that fear, that anxiety that comes from death? It’s not only in the moment when we stop breathing, it’s in those choices that we have to make everyday, to keep following the objective, which is, the charity of the Father, the love of God.

Look at the way we live our Christian faith. We don’t really strive for it. We live out there and do what they do. We act like they act. They don’t know we’re Christians by our charity anymore. They can’t see it. They hear us complain like everybody else.

We have to examine ourselves, how much effort we’re really putting into it. That’s meditation. We think about the saints, we look at the life that our Lord lived and we remember that He tells us to imitate Him, and to follow Him and to pick up His cross and to die with Him. So we have to reflect in meditation and say “Where am I at?” “Why do I get so upset when this happens or that happens?”. Why am I so worried about this, why am I so worried about that? The saints lived a heroic way. Why is it so hard for me to live in a heroic way, when it just seemed so effortless for them to die like a dog in a hut and then just go straight to Heaven? Why was it so easy for them to do that but yet I’m so worried about even being brought to the hut?

Living completely for God. Little by little chiseling away those things that you’re attached too. It’s a life of mortification and love for God.

The one in 10,000 is all those obstacles, all those temptations, all those things you have to face, those are the odds. And if you heroically face it you’re going to go to Heaven.

Other people force things on us, like asking us to watch their marriage outside of the Church. As St. Paul says, “Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. A little leaven corrupteth the whole lump.”

“Or what part your attachments to eternity, your sins with perfection.”

It’s all about eternity.

“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God saith: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore, Go out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing: 18 And I will receive you; and I will be a Father to you; and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

See the benefit of heroically putting yourself against the 10,000, that is, all the temptations, the difficulties, the misunderstandings? It’s worth it.

This is a passing world. If we be dead, then what are these things to us but a false attachment to what we want the reality to be? The reality is, this is all passing away. Either you’re going to go to Heaven or hell.

O my soul, keep watch and reflect upon the awesome day, prepare your oil and keep your lamp burning bright for you do not know when you will hear the cry, “Behold, your bridegroom is come. Be watchful then my soul. Lest you fall into a deep slumber and the door be closed to you. But be resolved and watchful so that you may go out in all brightness to meet Christ our God. That He may admit you to the bridal chamber of His Divine Glory. Be resolved and watch. For Christ says to us, “Behold, I come quickly.”

God love you.

The Most Joyful People I’ve Ever Seen

So you want to be joyful…

The world tells us that in order to be happy we need to make lots of money, be retired, travel the world, eat great food and drink expensive wine, wear luxurious clothes and drive fancy cars.

But look at these cloistered nuns. They literally own nothing. They have no money, no property. They never travel, they never even leave the convent. They eat minimally, sleep in small cots. They’re beggars. Yet they are the most joyful people I’ve ever seen.

Someone has been lying to us. The powers that be say we need a big house, go to the best schools, invest wisely, plan for retirement. They’re wrong. All you have to do is follow the King, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Forget about the world, live for God and never take our eyes off of Him.

A Parent’s Primary Focus

It’s good to be reminded.

As my wife and I run our kids to soccer practice, make dinner, see that they do their homework, it is good to be reminded of our true purpose in raising them. The priest in the video below says that virtually all parents want their kids to be happy, and that is a good thing. “All parents should want their children to be happy. But we have to question, what kind of happiness are they talking about? Happiness in this life or the next?”

He says, “Our primary role is to help get our kids and spouse into Heaven.

He talks about those good parents who do much right, “yet they fail to truly catechize their children. Parents who receive the sacraments, baptism, penance, communion, confirmation, maybe they’re even married in the Church, and yet they fail to truly catechize their children about the four last things, about the things that never end. And so their children grow up, thinking little about God and loving Him. They spend all their time in life concerned with sports, school, going to the best colleges, making a lot of money, worried about their inheritance, degrees, a nice house, and giving little to no thought about what’s really at stake. Eternal life or eternal damnation. Parents must understand their job is not only to provide temporally for their children, but above all, spiritually.”

On St. Rita’s feast day, “Let the rose remind you of the precious gift of your family and let the lesson of St. Rita, your primary focus is Heaven for those who you love. St. Rita knew that if her family made it to Heaven they would never have to say goodbye again.”

“Far more than any passing thing of this world, in the Heavenly reunion, they would be truly happy.”

Say a Hail Mary for this beautiful priest, who used the life of St. Rita as an example for us on how to live.

St. Rita, Pray for Us!

“You Are Exactly Where God Has Placed You, at the Exact Time You Should Be There”

Cross-post from St. Louis Catholic via nonvenipacem.com. I love the sentiment in this post: to keep up the good cheer no matter how bleak things appear to be. Never focus on the negative, turn always your eyes to God. As Saint Paul writes in Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, rejoice.” He means it. Like really, really rejoice! Do everything for God. Be virtuous, stand for what is right, shine the light, no matter what happens.

This is a hard fight and we had better all die than lose it.

General James Longstreet

Looking at the poor state of affairs on this blog, and wondering why I still have it, it is obvious that the reason I haven’t been posting regularly is that the news is so uniformly bad. Well, that’s not the whole reason– after all, deploring the bad and promoting the good is what a Catholic blog is all about. It is rather that the uniformly bad news is already so depressingly obvious to everyone who would read this blog. In short, if you read this blog you already know how bad it is. So going around and saying things like, “Perverts perversely reading to children perverse things while dressed perversely, while being allowed to by perverted parents and protected by perverted law enforcement and perverted courts is bad!” sort of loses its punch. That is, when you already know this, and you know it will continue, and you know it will be followed by progressively worse things to come.

This is compounded by the fact that I have been writing this thing for 16+ years and I have said pretty much all I have to say that is at all original– however much that may have been. I am not in the flowering phase of my creativity. If I can use a gardening metaphor (my garden being one of the things that brings me joy these days), this blog is like when the green bean bushes are picked over, but then in late summer you still find a few at times. And some days you are pleasantly surprised to still get a meal’s worth out of them.

That’s good enough for me. This is not a post about ending the blog.

I admire those inspirational bloggers still at it in this land of famine, like Ann Barnhardt, Mark Docherty and Frank Walker (I still want Frank to change the title of his Canon 212 Update to “Get off my Catholic lawn!”– with full credit to yours truly– but alas). You don’t think they know things are bad? I mean, really. But there they are, doing it. They are warriors for Christ. There are others, of course, and we all have our zone. I love reading them. I do so every day. When one of my regular reads has a day without a new post, I am disappointed. I can only imagine that my readers have long since stopped the daily refresh. It wasn’t that long ago I would average more than a post a day. But like I said, this is what I’ve got. And so be it.

Back to topic, after that long aside. It must be hard for many of us to keep our good cheer surrounded by such palpable evil. It is understandable, but we have to guard, feed and increase the deep interior joy that is essential for a Catholic. We have been given everything! We have the example of the Divine Person Who is Our Lord to show us that suffering is redemptive. We have an opportunity to share in the sufferings of our Divine Master, and if we play our cards right we are assured thereafter of sharing in His eternal glory.

Today is the Vigil of Saints Peter and Paul. Their example is perfect for our time. The time God chose for us. Let us not ask why we were born in this time, instead of the glorious era of Christendom, for instance. God’s plan is perfect. Who knows, this time may have been the only time when I, or you perhaps, had the right conditions for our salvation.

I don’t remember the apparition off of the top of my head, but I seem to recall an observation made in one of them that in the latter days Catholics would be so weak and so relatively pitiful to the great Saints of the past, but that in their weakness they would give the most powerful witness for Christ. If I mistake the source the point still seems good to me. Our Lord Himself told St. Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” And we must answer as St. Paul did: “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Doesn’t it seem that to be even a mediocre Catholic these days takes heroic effort? We must not be mediocre, we are called to perfection. But I speak of the vibe, you dig?

What lies ahead? I think we know, at least for many. Consider the words of the Risen Christ to St. Peter: “Amen, amen I say to thee, when thou wast younger, thou didst gird thyself, and didst walk where thou wouldst. But when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and lead thee whither thou wouldst not. And this he said, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had said this, he saith to him: Follow me.”

OK then. Will do. And remember, we’re in this together.

So let us fight on, cheerfully and manfully, this rearguard action of standing for our beleaguered Church and what remains of Christian civilization.

“Linoleic Acid — The Most Destructive Ingredient in Your Diet”

Full article below by Dr. Mercola about the dangers of Linoleic Acid, most commonly found in seed oils. Since seed oil (vegetable oil, canola oil, etc.) is in most foods – fried foods, sauces, dressings, bread products, pastries, drinks (coffee creamers) etc., you’re probably eating way more than you think, and it could be destroying your health. Seed oils were developed to be used in factories as lubricants and are used in food because they are cheap, and have the oily mouthfeel. Definitely a must-read (or watch). Link to article here. Fats — which are water-insoluble biological molecules also known as lipids1 — are the primary building block of your cell membranes. This is one of the reasons why eating the right types of fat is so important for your health and longevity.

What distinguishes one fat from another is the specific combination of fatty acids it’s composed of, and the properties of fats and fatty acids depend on their hydrogen saturation and the length of their molecules, also referred to as “chain length.”

Fatty Acid Basics

There are two basic types of fatty acids, based on how many of their carbon bonds are paired with hydrogen:2

  • Saturated fats are fully loaded with hydrogen atoms forming straight chains, and are typically solid at room temperature (examples include butter and coconut oil)
  • Unsaturated fats have lost at least one of the pairs of hydrogen atoms from their carbon chain and come in two varieties:
    • Monounsaturated fats, which are missing one pair of hydrogen atoms
    • Polyunsaturated Fats (PUFAs), which are missing more than one pair of hydrogen atoms, hence the name “poly”

The loss of hydrogen results in molecules that kink or bend at each double bond. The more hydrogen pairs that are missing, the more bent the molecules, which causes the molecules to occupy more space. This is what makes the fat a liquid oil at room temperature.

In addition to varying levels of hydrogen saturation, fats also vary in the length of their carbon chains, leading to another classification scheme based on their number of carbon atoms:3

  • Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) — Two to four carbon atoms
  • Medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) — Six to 10 carbon atoms
  • Long-chain fatty acids (LCFAs) — 12 to 26 carbon atoms
  • Very-long-chain fatty acids4(VLCFAs) — 26 to 30 carbon atoms

The chain length and hydrogen saturation level control a fat’s melting point. As chain length increases, melting point increases. Likewise, fats that are solid at room temperature (butter, coconut oil) have longer chain lengths than fats that are liquid at room temperature (fish oil, olive oil). With chain lengths being equal, the polyunsaturated fats found in seeds oils have lower melting points than saturated fats.

Omega-3 and Omega-6 Basics

PUFAs can also be subdivided into omega-3 and omega-6 fats. The end of the fatty acid chain that is opposite the acid end is the “omega end.” The location of the first double bond from the omega end dictates whether a fatty acid is an omega-3, omega-6, omega-9 (oleic acid) or another member of the omega family.

The most pernicious toxin in the modern diet, and the fat you need to minimize consumption of, is the omega-6 fat linoleic acid (LA). LA makes up 60% to 80% of omega-6 fats and is the primary contributor to chronic disease.

To be clear, it’s only toxic when consumed in excessive quantities, but the vast majority of people nowadays consuming far more than the ideal amounts. The history of how seed oils ended up replacing far healthier animal fats is detailed in the video above.

Many still believe that if you have a distorted omega-3 to omega-6 ratio, the solution is simply to consume more omega-3, but that’s a serious mistake. While you certainly need a certain amount of omega-3s for good health, adding excessive omega-3s is a prescription for disaster, as omega-3 is also a PUFA.

So, when consumed in excessive quantities, omega-3 will cause metabolic damage similar to that of LA, as it breaks down into dangerous metabolites known as ALEs (advanced lipoxidation end products).

Commonly Confused Fats

It is also important to highlight a primarily plant-based omega-3 fat called alpha linolenic acid (ALA). ALA should not be confused with LA, as they are quite different from a biological standpoint. LA is an omega-6 fat and ALA is an omega-3 fat.

Also, do not confuse LA with CLA (conjugated linoleic acid). Although CLA is an omega-6 fat and most think CLA and LA are interchangeable, they’re not. CLA has many potent health benefits and will not cause the problems that LA does.

The Problem With PUFAs

As a general rule, vegetable and seed oils are high in PUFAs and low in saturated fats while animal fats are the converse. Saturated and monounsaturated fats are more easily used by your body than PUFAs, hence animal fats are generally healthier than seed oils.

Because your tissues are made up mostly of saturated and monounsaturated fats, your body also requires more of them than PUFAs. The main dietary PUFAs are omega-3 and omega-6 fats, and while your body does need these, it needs them in relatively small quantities.

One significant problem with PUFAs is that they are chemically unstable, which makes them highly susceptible to being damaged by oxygen species generated from the energy production in your cells. This damage causes them to form ALEs, which in turn generate dangerous free radicals that damage your cell membranes, mitochondria, proteins and DNA.

What’s worse, PUFAs are integrated into your cell membranes and can remain so for five to seven years. The missing hydrogen atoms also make PUFAs highly susceptible to oxidation, which causes the fat to break down into harmful metabolites such as OXLAMs (oxidized LA metabolites), which have a profoundly negative impact on your health.

LA Is Not an ‘Essential’ Fat

“Essential fatty acids” (EFAs) is a term referring to the PUFAs that scientists believe are crucial for health and that your body cannot produce. Hence, you have to get them from your diet. Currently only two types of fats are considered “essential”:

  • Omega-3 (EPA, DHA, and ALA)
  • Omega-6 fat (LA)

The inclusion of LA is unfortunate, as excessive amounts of LA actually wreck your cellular and mitochondrial function. The reality is you need very small amounts of LA, and because it’s found in most foods, it’s virtually impossible to become deficient. Moreover, modern research has shown that up to 10 generations of animals can be raised without any LA in their diet whatsoever and remain perfectly healthy.

Research has also shown that when you have a large amount of LA in your diet, an enzyme called delta-desaturase — which converts the plant-based omega-3 fat, ALA, to the long-chain fats DHA and EPA — is inhibited. So, consuming high amounts of LA increases your dependence on sea food as a source of preformed EPA and DHA.

This is important, as DHA and EPA are indeed essential and provide a wide range of health benefits. One of the most important benefits of DHA is lowering inflammation, which is a factor in most chronic and degenerative diseases. EPA, meanwhile, is important for heart and cardiovascular health.5,6

The Evidence Why LA Is Not an ‘Essential’ Fat

However, the first demonstration of essential requirement for LA in animal diets was in 1929-30. Rats receiving the nearly unachievable outside of a lab, 0.5% of their total dietary calories as LA were 30% higher in body weight compared to total fat deficient rats and did not develop skin lesions and tail necrosis.7,8

This led to the establishment of the requirement of 1% of total daily calories being omega-6 fat which was later extended to 2% of the total daily calorie intake in humans to ensure sufficiency. This was confirmed by two studies where the physiological symptoms of omega-6 deficiency in human infants, as established by scaling of the skin, were abolished.9,10

But careful review of the data used to establish LA being essential to the diet finds that this conclusion was established using control diets that were not only deficient in omega-6 fatty acids, but also omega-3 fatty acids. This dual deficiency in the control diets seems to invalidate the establishment of an omega-6 fatty acid requirement.11

Subsequent studies have demonstrated that the dietary omega-3 fatty acid, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), is able to diminish the symptoms of LA deficiency.12 This strongly suggests that the absence of ALA in the original studies have probably heightened the significance of the physiological symptoms caused by LA deficiency.

It seems that at least for the rat model, the nutritional requirement for LA has probably been seriously overestimated. A more precise estimation of the LA requirement is likely closer to a 75% reduction or, 0.5% of the dietary energy rather than 2%.13

This calls into question how “essential” LA really is in the human diet, especially since, outside of a research lab or parenteral nutrition, it is virtually impossible to avoid getting enough LA to meet physiological needs. Currently, most adults are consuming far more than recommended amounts of LA.

According to the Institute of Medicine (IOM), the dietary guidelines for LA intake recommend an upper limit of 10%,14 which is much higher than the optimal level of 1-2%.15 Despite, the less-than-ideal IOM dietary guidelines, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports that most adults are still consuming far above that limit.16

Seed Oils Are the Root of All Chronic Diseases

The video above reviews the health risks associated with vegetable oils and seed oils, which are found in most processed foods. It shows how chronic diseases such as heart disease began to skyrocket after the introduction of these oils to the market.

Before 1866, the Western world for the most part only consumed animal fats. Tallow, suet, lard and butter are examples of these fats. Eastern societies used cold-pressed fats like coconut and palm oil. Vegetable oils like we know them today simply did not exist.

The single-greatest change to the human diet in all of history was the introduction of industrially processed seed oils around 1866.17 At that time Procter & Gamble used a newly invented hydrogenation process to convert surplus unusable cotton seeds into a synthetic seed oil, sold to this day under the name Crisco.

Shortly after that, margarine, which is made from seed oils, was introduced. In recent years the company has largely converted to using palm, soy and canola oil for its Crisco, but cottonseed oil is still very much in use for cooking, especially in restaurants for their fryers.18

Historically, we can see that seed oil use increased from approximately 2 grams per day in 1865, to 5 grams per day in 1909, to 18 grams a day in 1999. As of 2008, the average consumption was 29 grams a day. In terms of percentages, seed oils accounted for approximately 1/100th of total calories in 1865 and increased to more than 1/4th of total calories by 2010 — a 25-fold increase!

Seed Oils Are Far Worse Than Sugar

While most nutritional experts blame the epidemic of chronic disease on the increase in sugar consumption, the role of sugar is relatively minor when compared to the impact of seed oils.

In 1822 the average U.S. sugar consumption was 6 pounds per person per year. This rose to a high of 108 pounds per person per year by 1999.19 This is a 17-fold increase, but seed oils went up 25-fold during that same time period.

In the 1960s and ’70s,20 cardiologist Dr. Robert Atkins was largely responsible for creating the interest in low-carb (low-sugar) diets that seemed to work for many. However, eliminating foods like french fries, potato chips, breads, pasta, pizza and donuts not only eliminates sugar-based carbs, but also seed oils. It is not intuitively obvious, but the carb-loaded foods his diet eliminated are also loaded with dangerous refined seed oils.

Processed foods typically contain about 21% sugar. However, up to 50% or more of the overall calories contained in most processed foods come from seed oils.21,22 The connection is further confirmed by looking at the U.S. carb consumption. It’s been declining since 1997, yet obesity and Type 2 diabetes have steadily increased. Interestingly, this continued rise coincides with the surge of seed oil consumption.

Another major reason why seed oils are exponentially more pernicious to your health than sugar is that they last much longer in your body. The half-life of LA is around 600 to 680 days, or approximately two yearsThis means it will take you about six years to replace 95% of the LA in your body with healthy fats. This is the primary reason for keeping your LA intake low as possible.

Meanwhile, your glycogen stores will be exhausted in about one to two days. So if you go on a sugar binge, that sugar doesn’t stick around for years destroying your health like the LA in seed oils does.

How Excess LA Consumption Can Wreck Your Health

The main reason why excess LA causes disease is that it prevents your mitochondria from working well. Mitochondria are subcellular organelles responsible for producing most of your cellular energy in the form of ATP, and without ATP, your cells cannot function and repair themselves normally.

As mentioned earlier, PUFAs such as LA are easily damaged by oxygen in a process called oxidation,23 which triggers the creation damaging free radicals.24 These, in turn, give rise to ALEs25 and in the case of omega-6 fats, OXLAMs.26, 27

These ALEs and OXLAMs then go on to cause mitochondrial dysfunction, which is a hallmark of most all chronic disease. In addition to oxidation, inflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction, processed seed oils can also:

  • Damage the cells lining your blood vessels
  • Cause memory impairment and increase your risk of Alzheimer’s disease (canola oil, in particular, has been linked to Alzheimer’s)
  • Strip your liver of glutathione thereby lowering your antioxidant defenses
  • Inhibit delta-6 desaturase (delta-6), an enzyme involved in the conversion of short-chained omega-3s to longer chained omega-3s in your liver
  • Impair your immune function and increase mortality
  • Make your fat cells more insulin sensitive, thereby causing insulin resistance
  • Inhibit cardiolipin, an important fat in the inner membrane of your mitochondria

The Importance of Cardiolipin

The inhibition of cardiolipin in the inner membrane of your mitochondria explains much of the damage caused by LA. You have about 40 quadrillion to 100 quadrillion mitochondria throughout the cells of your body. The cristae of the inner membrane of the mitochondria contains a fat called cardiolipin,28 and its function is dependent on the type of fat you get from your diet.

Cardiolipin is important because it influences the structure of the cristae inside your mitochondria, which is the area where energy production occurs. If cardiolipin is damaged, then the complexes will not be close enough together to form supercomplexes and thus the mitochondrial energy production will be impaired.

Cardiolipin also works like a cellular alarm system that triggers apoptosis (cell death) by signaling caspase-3 when something goes wrong with the cell. If the cardiolipin is damaged from oxidative stress due to having too much LA, it cannot signal caspase-3, and hence apoptosis does not occur.

As a result, dysfunctional cells are allowed to continue to grow, which can turn into a cancerous cell. The type of dietary fat that promotes healthy cardiolipin is omega-3 fat, and the type that destroys it is omega-6, especially LA.

The image below illustrates a typical mitochondria on the left. Figure C shows how the folds cause cardiolipin to provide the curve in the mitochondrial cristae. The folding causes the super complexes in the electron transport chain to get closer together and more efficiently transfer electrons to produce ATP.

The good news is that dietary changes can improve the composition of fats in your cardiolipin in a matter of weeks, or even days. So, even though it will take years to lower your total body burden of LA, you will likely notice improvements well before then.

LA Contributes to Heart Disease and Cancer

Heart disease and cancer are two of the primary killers in the Western world, and LA is a significant contributor to both of these lethal conditions. One of the first things that happens in atherosclerosis, which is the precursor to heart disease, is that your macrophages (a type of white blood cell) turn into foam cells — essentially a macrophage stuffed with fat and cholesterol.

Atherosclerotic plaque is basically dead macrophages and other types of cells loaded with cholesterol and fat. This is why heart disease is blamed on saturated fat and cholesterol. However, researchers have found that for foam cells to form, the LDL (low density lipoprotein cholesterol) must be oxidized, and that is precisely what seed oils do.

Seed oils cause the LDL to oxidize, thereby forming foam cells. So, LDL in and of itself does not initiate atherosclerosis. LDL’s susceptibility to this oxidative process is controlled by the LA content of your diet. Excess PUFAs also make cell membranes more fragile, allowing them to be easily damaged by oxidation.29,30

Seed oils are also a major contributor to cancer. In fact, a surefire way to induce cancer in many animal models is to feed them seed oils. Animals typically develop cancer once the LA in their diet reaches 4% to 10% of their energy intake.

And, as mentioned, most Americans get approximately 25% of their total daily calories from seed oils, so we’re far over the safety threshold for these fats — at least based on the laboratory work in animals. Remember our ancestors typically got less than 2% of their calories in the form of omega-6.

There’s even evidence showing that eliminating seed oils from your diet will dramatically reduce your risk of sunburn and lower your risk of skin cancer,31,32,33 as susceptibility to UV radiation damage is controlled by how much LA is in your diet.34,35

What Foods to Avoid, and How

Primary sources of LA include seed oils used in cooking, processed foods and restaurant foods made with seed oils, condiments, seeds and nuts, most olive oils and avocado oils (due to the high prevalence of adulteration with cheaper seed oils), and animal foods raised on grains such as conventional chicken and pork.

Ideally, consider cutting LA down to below 7 grams per day, which is close to what our ancestors used to get. If you’re not sure how much you’re eating, enter your food intake into Cronometer — a free online nutrition tracker — and it will provide you with your total LA intake.

Cronometer will tell you how much omega-6 you’re getting from your food down to the 10th of a gram, and you can assume 90% of that is LA. Anything over 10 grams of LA is likely to cause problems. Healthy fat replacements include tallow, butter or ghee, all of which are excellent for cooking.

The table below provides a fairly comprehensive list of the most commonly consumed oils and their approximate LA content.36,37,38 In general, the lowest LA-containing fats — butter and beef tallow — would be the fats of choice. These excellent cooking fats would not only be the lowest in LA, but will also provide the fat-soluble vitamins, A, D, and K2. Coconut oil is also very low in LA but doesn’t provide the important fat-soluble vitamins that tallow and butter contain.

Vast Majority of Olive Oil and Avocado Oil Are Adulterated

Most people introduced to the topic of omega-6 toxicity have questions about olive oil and avocado oil. Consumption of olive oil has increased more than 10-fold in the U.S. over the past 35 years.39 Olives and olive oil are well-known for their many health benefits, especially for your heart, but using adulterated olive oil will not do your health any favors.

Tests have revealed that anywhere from 60% to 90% of the olive oils sold in American grocery stores and restaurants are adulterated with cheap, oxidized, omega-6 vegetable oils, such as sunflower oil or peanut oil, or nonhuman-grade olive oils, which are harmful to health in a number of ways.40

This is even true for “extra virgin” olive oil Cheap seed oils are added and will not be listed on the label, nor will most people be able to discern that their olive oil is not 100% pure. Chances are, you’ve been eating poor-quality olive oil so long — or you’ve never tasted a pure, high-quality olive oil to begin with — you don’t even realize there’s something wrong with it.

The same applies to avocado oil. Many believe avocado oil is as healthy as olive oil, but this is simply not the case. A 2020 study showed that 82% of avocado oil is adulterated, mislabeled or of poor quality.41

In general, people believe the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is policing and regulating food fraud, but that’s not the case. Its primary focuses are making sure the ingredient label is accurate and tracking food-related disease outbreaks.

The FDA does little in terms of preventing illegally adulterated foods from being sold. This makes discerning quality a difficult task, and unless you can somehow ensure you’re getting 100% pure, unadulterated olive oil and/or avocado oil, you’re better off avoiding them altogether.

Go Easy on the Nuts and Seeds

Most people who are interested in health believe that nuts and seeds are “heart healthy” staples.42 However, as you can see in the table below, most nuts and seeds are exceedingly high in LA. For example, 50% of the fat in pecans is LA.43 The only exception is macadamia nuts.

So, while nuts and seeds are often unprocessed and are the best type of omega-6 fats to eat, they will still contribute to the LA content of your diet, and once you hit 5 grams of LA per day, the perishable double bonds will begin to oxidize and generate dangerous free radicals that lead to health problems.

So, nuts and seeds need to be significantly minimized or even eliminated if you want to lower your LA. As mentioned, the exception to this rule is macadamia. Since only 2% of their fat is LA, you can have 10 to 30 a day without significantly raising your LA level.

LA in Animal Foods

While seed oils are a primary source of LA, a number of animal foods you might not suspect are also loaded with this harmful fat. Ruminant animals such as cows, buffalo, sheep, lamb, goats, deer, elk and many other game animals have low LA content in their milk and meat, no matter what they eat, thanks to the fact that they have multiple stomachs with bacteria that can convert the high LA fat they eat into saturated and monounsaturated fats.

Animals with a single stomach, however, like chickens and pigs, cannot make this conversion. So, when they’re fed corn and soy, which are high in LA, their meat and eggs will also be high in LA.44 Most chicken and pork have over 25% LA. Chicken eggs are acceptable, though, as each egg has less than 1 gram of LA, and that is assuming they are fed commercial feeds that are loaded with high LA.

Interestingly, the difference in LA in ruminants that are 100% grass-fed and those that are fed corn and soy is only about 0.5%, which is why, from an LA perspective, there isn’t much difference between conventional beef and grass fed-only beef. That said, grass fed beef is still preferred as it typically has less glyphosate and hormones.

So, in summary, your best option is to get most of your animal protein from ruminants and avoid or limit all chicken and pork. My favorite meats are bison and lamb, but any of the ones listed above will work. Ideally it should be organic and the animals should not be fed any food that is contaminated with glyphosate or other pesticides.

LA in Seafood

Ideally, you’d get your omega-3s from healthy seafood. However, not all seafoods contain omega-3s. Only fatty, cold-water fish do. Examples include wild-caught Alaskan salmon, sardines, anchovies, mackerel and herring.

Farmed fish, especially farmed salmon, is best avoided altogether due to the exaggerated potential for contamination. At first glance, farmed fish may seem like a good idea to help protect wild seafood populations from overfishing, but in reality, the industry is plagued with many of the same problems surrounding land-based concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs), including pollution, disease, toxicity and inferior nutritional quality.

Most farmed fish are fed genetically engineered (GE) corn and soy, which are a completely unnatural diet for marine life and are loaded with hazardous omega-6 fats. Others are fed fishmeal, which is known to accumulate industrial chemicals like PCBs and dioxins.

From a nutritional perspective, farmed salmon also have the drawbacks of containing only half the omega-3 of wild salmon,45,46,47 and one-fourth the vitamin D,48 while having more than 5.5 times the amount of omega-6.49,50 Farmed salmon are also routinely exposed to antibiotics and pesticides.

Carnosine Can Help Reduce LA-Induced Oxidative Damage

While your body will slowly eliminate stored LA over time, provided you reduce your intake, a peptide supplement called carnosine can help reduce the oxidative damage caused by LA while your body is cleaning itself out.

Carnosine is a dipeptide your body makes and it consists of two amino acids, beta-alanine and histidine. It serves as a sacrificial sink for reactive oxygen species (ROS) and ALEs, meaning it lets these very damaging molecules destroy it rather than your mitochondria, DNA or proteins, as depicted in the image below.

Carnosine is found in meats, and eating animal protein is known to efficiently raise carnosine levels.51 It’s not found in any plant foods. Alternatively, you could use a supplement. In this case, beta-alanine is a superior choice, as it’s the rate limiting amino acid in the formation of carnosine and raises carnosine levels more efficiently. It’s also far less expensive than carnosine.

Summary

Do yourself and your family a favor and embark on a journey of eliminating all seed oils from your diet today to ward off virtually all chronic degenerative diseases. This means avoiding all seed oils, and even fruit oils like olive oil and avocado oils as they are frequently adulterated with cheap seed oils.

Cook with ghee, butter or beef tallow, and avoid all processed foods, as they are typically loaded with seed oils. Also avoid eating in restaurants, as nearly all use massive amounts of seed oils to cook with and put it in their sauces and dressings. Lastly, avoid chicken and pork, and stick to bison and lamb as your primary meat sources.

Our Lady of Good Success – “Every Prophecy Has Come True Except One”

The Decline and Restoration of the Catholic Church

I recently watched this fascinating talk by Fr. Chris Alar about Our Lady of Good Success, a Marian Apparition of the 16th and 17th centuries. Here is the story:

“In the years between 1594 and 1634, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a cloistered Conceptionist sister in Quito, Ecuador named Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres. During these forty years, Our Lady appeared to her asking that she wished to be known under the title of Nuestra Senora del Buen Suceso which in English translates to Our Lady of Good Success. She spoke to Mother Mariana about the future times that were to come for the Catholic Church particularly during the 20th Century. Our Blessed Mother described for her the grave crisis that would take place then in the Church and also society in general.”

Our Lady told Mother Mariana what would happen to the Catholic Church in the late 19th and 20th centuries:

One of the most striking of the prophetic visions occurred on the Feast of the Purification, February 2, 1634, the 40 th anniversary of the first appearance of Our Lady of Good Success to Mother Mariana. Mother Mariana was praying in the upper choir loft before the Blessed Sacrament, the Sanctuary lamp went out. Mother Mariana was left in complete darkness. The extinguishing of the Sanctuary Light signified the dire straits the Church would be in during this future epoch.

Our Lady of Good Success was quite clear on what would be the demise of the Catholic Church—the general theme– a lax and perverse clergy. Certain members of the Catholic clergy would become as thieves stealing that Tabernacle light…thieves that would steal what is rightfully ours by virtue of our baptism in the Catholic Church—our Faith. They would rob us of Doctrine, Dogma and Tradition— ransacking the Church as it were leaving us in total darkness without even as much as the light of the Sanctuary Lamp (which signifies the presence of the Holy Eucharist– -Jesus Christ, Himself). Our Lady of Good Success went into great detail to explain what the five reasons were for the extinguishing of the light.

The first reason why the lamp was snuffed out was because in the end of the 19 th Century and during the 20 th Century , heresies would prevail not only in Ecuador but universally. “As these heresies spread and dominate, the precious light of Faith will be extinguished in souls by the almost total corruption of customs.”

The second reason was that in these times the Conceptionist Community would shrink and even be infected with bad attitudes and false charity as a result of the pervading situation of the Church at the time. Many vocations would be lost as a direct result . (This was to be considered a reflection of a more universal condition during these times). However, “ The faithful souls would suffer a continuous and slow martyrdom, weeping in secret and imploring that such dire times be shortened.”

The third reason the lamp failed was due to the fact that during this century a worldwide campaign against the virtues of chastity, and purity would succeed in ruining the youth. Our Lady of Good Success affirmed, “There will be almost no virgin souls in the world ”

The fourth reason the lamp was put out was to demonstrate how the Masonic and other secret sects would have so much influence on society and even the Church. “During these unfortunate times,” she foretold, “evil will invade childhood innocence. In this way, vocations to the priesthood will be lost, resulting in a true calamity.”

Our Lady of Good Success could foresee that there would still be some good, faithful religious that would be willing to suffer all for the salvation of souls and sustenance of the Holy Catholic Church. . “The secular clergy will leave much to be desired because priests will become careless in their sacred duties. Lacking the divine compass, they will stray from the road traced by God for the priestly ministry, and they will become attached to wealth and riches, which they will unduly strive to attain. How the Church will suffer during this dark night! Lacking a prelate and a father to guide them … many priests will lose their spirit, placing their souls in great danger.” The poor priestly souls that would be left to uphold the Church would suffer greatly.

“Against them the impious will rage a cruel war, overwhelming them with vituperations, calumnies and vexations in order to stop them from fulfilling their ministry. But they, like firm columns, will remain unswerving and will confront everything with a spirit of humility and sacrifice with which they will be vested, by virtue of the infinite merits of my most Holy Son, Who will love them in the innermost fibers of His Most Holy and Tender Heart.

Our Lady of Good Success implored that the people of this time should “clamor insistently” to the Heavenly Father for an end to ‘these ominous times’ sending to the Church a prelate and father who would restore the spirit to the priests”.

The fifth reason the lamp went out was due to those who have the financial means to help the Church but do nothing. Because of their uncaring attitude toward God and His Church, they would have allowed evil to seemingly triumph.

Fr. Alar says, “Every prophecy has come true except one. The only exception that has not happened yet is the restoration of the Church.

Full List of Virtues – From Father Ripperger

Here is a list of the virtues and corresponding vices copied from Father Ripperger’s talk, found here (beginning at 9:20). Support this great priest!

The 4 Infused Virtues – Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, Temperance
The 3 Theological Virtues – Faith, Hope and Charity

Why grow in virtue? Because it makes you good and inclines you to good action:
“St. Thomas says virtue does two things to a person: it makes the haver of the virtue good, in other words, it perfects him. Various faculties of his soul are perfected. They’re rightly ordered. They’re directed towards the ends which they’re supposed to be. So it makes you actually good. And then he says it inclines towards good action. So the person who is virtuous is the person who’s just inclined to do the right thing at the right moment and that actually makes him good.”

All words below are Father Ripperger’s:

Infused Virtues

“There are 3 kinds of infused virtues. The first are the moral infused virtues and that’s what we’ll spend most of the time on tonight. And then there are the theological. There’s also another infused kind of habit it’s called the Gift of the Holy Ghost. The theological of course are faith, hope, and charity.

A Charcoal Grill and a Happy Life

I was talking with a friend the other day and I mentioned that work and family are a lot to keep up with. You get done with work and you’re tired, but the kids are done with school and they are ready to play. Your wife has been dealing with the kids, she’s tired and wants a break.
I asked him, “How’d you do it, David?”

He said, “You know what you need? A charcoal grill.
When you get home after a day of work, you want to relax, but you want to be there for your family.
Get you some charcoal, load up the grill. Then what do you do? Gotta light it and wait. You can drink a couple of beers.
The wife will be happy for you because you’re cooking dinner.
The kids will be running around outside, you can keep an eye on them. They will each come over at different times to see what you are doing and talk. You can ask them about school, what they’re working on, how their day went.
You get to relax without having the kids climbing on you. The wife is happy…the kids are outside playing. Dinner’s cooking.
That’s what you need Rob…a charcoal grill.”

How to Lessen Anxiety, Stress, and Worry

This is a great talk from Sensus Fidelium on youtube called Abandonment to Divine Providence. Stress, worry and anxiety are chronic in modern america, and they are all self imposed, many times because we want to impose our will upon our lives rather than submit to the will of God. Read the full transcript of the talk below (all bold is mine).

Here are some choice quotes:

A soul abandoned to Providence will consider everything else as good, for it is God’s will that it is so. Thus it is God’s will for me that I get this many green lights and this many red lights. And so the soul conformed to Divine Providence will always be at peace for it always has just what it needs and everything it desires.

On living in the moment: “God desires this matter of me, what more is necessary? While I do this I am not obliged to do anything else.

“He never impels anyone Beyond his strength nor Any Way Beyond his aptitude.”

Passive abandonment is to see all that befalls us as fulfilling God’s will for us. “Consider this will in regard to yourself,” writes Saint Francis de Sales, “in everything good or ill that happens or can happen to you except sin then approve, praise, and love it, protesting that you wish ever to honor, cherish, and adore this Sovereign will. Committing to it your person and all that belongs to you. Finally, conclude with great confidence in this holy will that it will do everything necessary for your good and happiness.”

For as soon as things happen not according to our expectations and anticipations a sudden desolation seizes upon our souls? Why is this unless because we are not resigned with indifference into the hands of God.

Abandonment is not then in never feeling sadness but rather in suffering it and in embracing it as we ought to embrace any and every cross which is given us by The Loving hand of God our Father. Finally, if you want a visual image we need but consider the child Jesus, as carried about by Mary, as a perfect example. Does He follow His own will or is He the God man Himself abandoned to the will of His mother carried about wherever she places to go? And if He can so abandon Himself to Mary’s will what have we to fear by abandoning ourselves to His?

Today we shall study the easy path to sanctity – abandonment to Divine Providence. Abandonment to God is the virtue of virtues says Saint Francis de Sales. How happy should we be if we faithfully practice this virtue? Undoubtedly we should arrive at the highest Perfection of a Saint Catherine of Sienna or of a Saint Francis and of many others. This is because abandonment to Divine Providence is nothing less than the Conformity of our will to the will of God. Saint Francis continues, “Oh if the holy will of God reigned in us how happy should we be? We should never commit any sin or live according to our irregular inclinations for that Holy will is the rule of all excellence and the sanctity.” Abandonment to Divine Providence is an easy path open to all – the very young and the Very Old, the intelligent and the simple. It is a path as open to religious as it is to every humble husband going to his job or weary mother attending the house. It is as accessible to the missionary who travels the whole world as it is to the sick man who cannot even leave his bed anymore without Aid. Abandonment to Divine Providence requires no education or physical ability. It needs no special spiritual lights or gifts. It is a path equally open to the innocent as it is to repentant sinners.

How then do we practice abandonment to Divine Providence? John Pierre Cossad has written a little book on this in which he says ,“If the work of our sanctification presents apparently the most insurmountable difficulties it is because we do not know how to form a just idea of it. In reality sanctity can be reduced to one single practice: Fidelity to the duties appointed by God. Now this Fidelity is equally within each one’s power whether in its active practice or its passive exercise. The active practice of fidelity consists in accomplishing the duties which devolve upon us whether imposed by the general laws of God and of the church or by the particular State we may have embraced. It’s passive exercise consists in the loving acceptance of all that God sends us at each moment. To pursue this abandonment actively then, we need only strive to do what God sets before us that is to follow the Commandments and to fulfill the duties of our state in life as Faithfully as we can.”

Our Center is the will of God,” says Saint Francis de Sales. God wishes that I should do this action now, God desires this matter of me, what more is necessary? While I do this I am not obliged to do anything else. Sometimes the Great accomplishments of the Saints appear an intimidating standard set next to our own little lives but this is only so if we take it upon ourselves to determine that sanctity must consist in baptizing thousands and thousands or founding hundreds of schools. But again here is where we precisely need faith in God’s Providence. That God’s Providence includes those Saints who are great like Towering Oaks just as much as it includes the little violets who nestle in close to the ground taking their own little space doing just what God intends them to do. “Can there be anything more reasonable?” Jean-Pierre asks. “What excuse can be made that this is all that God requires of the soul for the work of its sanctification? It is true then that it requires on our part only simple and easy things since it is only necessary to employ this simple method to attain to an eminent degree of sanctity. If over and above the Commandments, He shows us the councils as a more perfect aim He always takes care to suit the practice of them to our position and character. He bestows on us as the principal sign of our vocation to follow them the attractions of Grace which make them easy. He never impels anyone Beyond his strength nor Any Way Beyond his aptitude.”

No less important is the passive part of Abandonment which Cossad says “consists in accepting that which we very often have no power to prevent and in suffering lovingly that is to say with sweetness and consolation those things that too often cause weariness and disgust.”

Now this is very easy in one sense that it requires no external action on our parts. But it does require great internal restraint as well as great faith. Finally, conclude with great confidence in this holy will that it will do everything necessary for your good and happiness.” This is easier said than done. For he continues: “We sometimes see persons who coming to the service of God say, ‘Lord, I commend my spirit into Thy hands but on condition that Thou Wilt always give me consolations without anything to contradict my will and will give me superiors in all respects according to my liking. Alas, what are you doing? Do you not see that this is not to resign your soul into the hands of God as our Lord did? Do you not know that this is only one of those reserves from which all our troubles, disquietudes and other imperfections usually arise? For as soon as things happen not according to our expectations and anticipations a sudden desolation seizes upon our souls? Why is this unless because we are not resigned with indifference into the hands of God. Is this not just what our Savior tells us today and is it not in following his commands that we are saved? How much of our time and energy is spent on useless anxiety? Yes, we must use our mind and our strengths to fulfill God’s will for us in things that we can change. In doing things as much as we are able and that is the key. As much as we can for God does not ask us to do the impossible. In fact, He forbids us to waste our energies pursuing it.

How often do people ring their hands about some evil politician or Churchman or something like that and weighs all that time examining evil pursuing its correction without being able to affect it one bit? When that energy could be spent examining the own evil in their own hearts. Or perhaps another example driving. So long as you do your part to go to a good place, to leave yourself the time you need to get there, to be courteous to other drivers while you are getting there, then what else matters? Spend a little energy you need to pursue that which is within your power and no more. A soul abandoned to Providence will consider everything else as good, for it is God’s will that it is so. Thus it is God’s will for me that I get this many green lights and this many red lights. And so the soul conformed to Divine Providence will always be at peace for it always has just what it needs and everything it desires. If the red light makes me upset why? Why does it trouble me? Because it contradicts my will. But it does not contradict God’s will. By worrying about it, can you make the light change any faster? Will it looked down upon you and see that you are in a hurry to get somewhere, unlike everyone else and take pity on you and change the green for your sake? Is this not then that simple Pride which presumes that all things should be conformed to my will and thus is angered or saddened when they are not. See the results: your soul is now disquieted. It is troubled by the red light. You are now more irritable, unpleasant to be around. You have wasted energy on what you cannot affect and then suffer the want of it in the things that you can affect. You lose your self-restraint. Snap at your family. Become gloomy and morose, all because you wasted effort resisting God’s will in this tiny little thing. John Pierre states, “If that which God himself chooses for you does not content you, from whom do you expect to obtain what you desire? Do you know better than God? As He ordains it thus, why do you desire it differently? Do imagine you will find peace in resisting the Almighty? Is it not on the contrary this resistance which we too often continue without owning it even to ourselves which is the cause of all our troubles?”

Now we should note though that in all this what matters is the Conformity of the higher part of the soul to the will of God. Any at all present evils and obstacles prompt in our lower nature displeasure, and produce these effects in the lower part of our soul but we do know wrong to will to get somewhere as quickly as we may and are therefore with some reason unhappy in the lower part of the soul if something impedes this Pursuit. Abandonment to Divine Providence does not mean that one must always feel peaceful, that he is never beset with irrational emotions or that he never feels anger or sadness rise up in Rebellion against him. Indeed it is actually part of Divine Providence that we must suffer these lower emotions within our soul as well. Suffer them without engaging them, without embracing them, meditating on them or acting on them. Sadness is a natural and thus good emotional response willed by God Himself when our soul meets with some present evil. And thus our good Lord and our Blessed Mother experience great sadness in the very depths of their souls. Abandonment is not then in never feeling sadness but rather in suffering it and in embracing it as we ought to embrace any and every cross which is given us by The Loving hand of God our Father. Finally, if you want a visual image we need but consider the child that Jesus, as carried about by Mary, as a perfect example. Does He follow His own will or is He the God man Himself abandoned to the will of His mother carried about wherever she places to go? And if He can so abandon Himself to Mary’s will what have we to fear by abandoning ourselves to His?

Why the Economic Collapse is Beautiful

Many would say that economic collapse is a horrific thing, and to be sure, much of it is. But there is a great streak of beauty within american economic collapse as well. Because people will get back to living how they’re supposed to live. More family, more friends, more community, more love. Rely on others…not the government. For this is how it has always been throughout history and how it should be. Sure it will be difficult. The threats come from many angles: biomedical war, toxic food war, food supply war, economic war…the list goes on. But this will create communities among people again, as they come together to try and overcome the threats and survive. Which is the story of human history. They will rely on one another. Rather than tear down they will build each other up.

During the economic collapse, the obvious absurdities of the false economy will fall away. So much destruction has come from that economic system, and there will be no pretending that any part of it was good. It will be shown to be the fraud that it is. It will be exposed.

Once the fraud is exposed, after long years, some new system will be created by the people. Some system that is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, freedom and sound money. It is only then, after this new system has been set up, will anything resembling a civilization grow. Anything that grows before will be but another bungling step in the wrong direction, much like destructive Keynesianism.

Seeing government economic totalitarian control go away and be replaced with a system which benefits more than just those in power? Seeing an economic system based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, freedom and sound money come to benefit all of the children of God?

This will be beautiful.
